The minimum age to rent a Personal Watercraft (Sea-Doo, Waverunner, or Jet Ski) is 19 years old with valid government-issued photo identification.
Operators 17–18 years of age may operate a Personal Watercraft only with a signed parental or legal guardian consent form.
The minimum age for kayak and paddleboard rentals is 12 years of age, with a parental or legal guardian signature required for renters under the age of 18.
A valid driver’s license must be presented prior to rental.
A valid Pleasure Craft Operator Card (boater’s license) must be presented, or the customer must complete Transport Canada’s Safety Briefing Checklist prior to rental.
Gordons WaterSports Inc. reserves the right to refuse or cancel a rental if, in its sole opinion, the operator is incapable of safely operating the watercraft.
Only individuals listed on the rental agreement who possess a valid boater’s license or have completed the safety briefing are permitted to operate the Personal Watercraft.
A $500 damage deposit hold is required for each Personal Watercraft rental.
This deposit will be placed as a temporary authorization on a valid credit card prior to the start of the rental. The authorization will be released after the equipment is returned and inspected, provided that no damage, violations, or additional charges have occurred.
The damage deposit does not limit the renter’s financial responsibility. In the event of severe damage, loss, or negligence, the renter is responsible for the full cost of repairs or replacement beyond the deposit amount.
5 or more days notice: Full refund.
Between 24 hours and 5 days notice: 50% refund.
Less than 24 hours notice: No refund. Store credit may be issued at the discretion of Gordons WaterSports Inc.
Gordons WaterSports Inc. reserves the right to refuse rental or cancel reservations in the event that weather conditions may pose a risk to renters.
This may include limiting the rental agreement to a geographic area, shortening the rental period, delaying departure, or full cancellation.
Weather cancellations are determined solely at the discretion of Gordons WaterSports Inc. Rain or overcast conditions alone will not normally result in cancellation.
Renters must obey all posted speed limits and NO WAKE zones, including within Sarnia Bay Marina.
Failure to obey these rules may result in termination of the rental and forfeiture of the damage deposit. Violations may also result in provincial or federal charges including dangerous operation of a vessel or careless operation of a vessel.
Renters must reduce speed near shorelines, docks, canal walls, swimmers, and other watercraft.
Mandatory safety equipment is provided with each rental. This includes a personal flotation device (PFD) for each occupant.
Safety equipment must remain on the watercraft unless required in an emergency. Use of personal flotation devices is strongly recommended at all times.
Consumption of alcohol or drugs while operating rented equipment is strictly prohibited.
Occupants may be charged by law enforcement if alcohol or drugs are used while operating a vessel.
The operator of the watercraft must remain attentive at all times to:
Renters must have a cell phone on their person during the rental in case of emergency.
Personal Watercraft must not be beached in order to prevent damage to the hull or jet intake.
If a watercraft is found to have been beached, the rental may be terminated immediately.
If damage occurs as a result of beaching, the renter will be responsible for all repair costs.
Operating watercraft through areas containing seaweed may cause damage by clogging the intake, impeller, or engine.
Renters are instructed to avoid all visible seaweed areas and operate only in clear water.
If seaweed causes mechanical damage during the rental period, the renter agrees to be responsible for all associated repair costs.
A minimum charge of $500 will apply for repairs caused by seaweed obstruction. Additional repair costs may apply if damages exceed this amount.
If Gordons WaterSports Inc. must dispatch staff or a vessel to assist, rescue, or retrieve a renter or equipment due to operator error, misuse, or failure to follow operating instructions, the renter agrees to pay a minimum rescue fee of $300.
Situations that may result in a rescue or retrieval fee include, but are not limited to:
Additional charges may apply if recovery requires additional time, equipment, or repairs.

Rental equipment must be returned at the agreed rental time.
Late returns will be charged $2.50 per minute beyond the scheduled return time.
